Welcome to this amazing gallery that features 38 of the best kitchen designs (2016 edition)!
Our aim in selecting 38 fabulous white kitchens for our “best-of” gallery was two-fold:
- The kitchens be very well designed; and
- Our selections provide diversity. In other words, while I love craftsman kitchens, we didn’t want to showcase kitchens based on my personal style preference. Therefore, we chose kitchens from a wide variety of styles.
Kitchens are one of the most important rooms in the home, and they only seem to become more and more important as styles and habits change.
While historically kitchens were small and separate fro the dining room, as styles have changed, kitchens have grown larger–into more of an entertaining area for family and friends.
As a result, kitchens merged with dining rooms and even, sometimes, with family rooms, particularly in open-concept home designs.
While most kitchens are still about function, it’s becoming increasingly common to see kitchens based on form instead. This is led, of course, to some incredible kitchens filled with unique architecture and beautiful details.
While kitchen designs come in pretty much any color you can imagine, a classic color for kitchens large and small is white.
A white kitchen typically feels larger and brighter than a kitchen in a darker color. White cabinets are sometimes criticized for being prone to dirty fingerprints, smudges, and stains, but there’s no denying how well white cabinets fit with basically any backsplash and countertop.
White kitchens exist in basically any design scheme, from farmhouse to ultra-modern, and they always look luxurious and top-notch!
We hope you’ll love these truly unique white kitchen designs–we’ve picked out some of the most stunning around!
1. Spacious Open-Concept White Kitchen
This is more of a traditional style kitchen, open to a dining room lined with windows, which brings lots of light into the spacious area. The pendant lights above the sizable island are stainless steel, matching the appliances.
2. Contemporary-Modern White Kitchen
This white kitchen is much smoother, and features minimalist cabinetry, vent hood, matte walls, and tile flooring. A bit of natural wood in the island and striped roman shades warm the space.
3. Farmhouse Kitchen in White
White can feel overwhelming sometimes. This kitchen utilizes cream on the walls and green in the backsplash to offset the white beadboard island and cabinetry.
4. Ultra-Modern Minimalist White Kitchen
This spacious kitchen features minimalist, sleek white cabinetry with under-mount lighting in addition to large format tile flooring and small recessed lights. The only dash of color in the room is in the accessories and two royal purple poufs.
Designed by JM Architecture.
5. Quaint White Kitchen Open to the Dining Room
Beautiful white paneling and other country details bring this contemporary farmhouse kitchen to life. While there isn’t much room for a backsplash, a simple white subway tile is the perfect pick for the sections that do need a backsplash.

6. Sleek White Kitchen with Glass Mosaic Backsplash
This is an excellent modern example of a white kitchen, featuring a light gray glass mosaic backsplash that provides contrast and texture without drawing away from the stunning pure white motif.
Designed by NC Office.
7. Classic White Kitchen with Marble
White marble is always a stunning choice for a kitchen, but when paired with rich wooden floors and white cabinets, the characteristic gray veining is distinct. White marble looks great on countertops, but really shines as part of an enormous island, as seen here.

Vaulted ceilings in white are another way to add air and space to a white kitchen. Note the way the backsplash changes behind the range.

21. Industrial Farmhouse Kitchen in White
Raising the upper cabinetry to the ceiling is a great trick that makes your kitchen’s ceilings feel taller. Of course, sometimes those highest cabinets aren’t convenient to use, so adding back lighting and using them as display cases is a perfect plan.
22. Elegant White Kitchen with Wicker Chairs
The mixture of coffered ceilings and elegant hanging lights really contributes to the classic design of this kitchen and dining room. Wicker-backed chairs add texture, as does the herringbone patterned backsplash.
